Blumenthal Acquires Majority Stake in Terresolve

January 22, 2013

Blumenthal Holdings, Radiator Specialty Company (RSC) LLC owners, acquire a majority stake in Terresolve Technologies, Ltd.

Terresolve Technologies, LTD, is a leading manufacturer of biobased hydraulic and functional fluids and lubricants for the offshore marine, marine transport, oil and gas and turf care industries. The acquisition will complement RSC’s existing business, RSC Bio Solutions, LLC, and further solidify the company’s commitment to delivering high performance chemistries that do not negatively impact the environment or the employee safety of their industrial customers.

RSC Bio Solutions, a sister company to Radiator Specialty Company and RSC Chemical Solutions, is focused on providing high performance cleaning, degreasing and lubricating products that are safe, non-hazardous and environmentally responsible. In November 2010, RSC announced the formation of RSC Bio Solutions following Blumenthal Holdings’ acquisition of a minority stake in Terresolve Technologies.

“Blumenthal Holdings’ acquisition of Terresolve Technologies deepens RSC’s commitment to this emerging market area and further establishes a business platform dedicated to providing solutions for environmental and workplace hazards,” said Mike Guggenheimer, Vice President of Business Development for RSC Bio Solutions. “With the increasing demand for  biodegradable products that can perform alongside their petroleum counterparts, the controlling stake in Terresolve Technologies gives RSC Bio Solutions a significant advantage by allowing us to bring to market a robust line of environmentally safe performance chemistries.”

With more than 50 different products serving a wide variety of industries and a 17-year track record, the Terresolve EnviroLogic brand offers a wide variety of biodegradable products, from hydraulic fluids and gear oils for marine transport and offshore oil and gas operations to power fluids for commercial turf care, which have been tested and proven in some of the toughest environments possible.

Terresolve currently serves the offshore marine, marine transport, turf/golf course maintenance, clean energy and fleet markets. The acquisition will expand RSC Bio Solutions’ offerings as the company makes Terresolve’s full range of products available to new and existing customers.
