MES-UBI Begins Operations in Vietnam

Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd (MES) and UBI Tower Sole Member Limited (UBI Tower) established the joint venture company named MES-UBI Heavy Industries Company Limited (MES-UBI) which manufactures the pressure vessels installed in the refinery and petrochemical plants with obtaining the Vietnamese government approval dated at April 23, 2014, then MES-UBI started the operation from the beginning of August 2014.

On August 1, 2014 in Hanoi, MES-UBI organized the opening ceremony to cerebrate the operation start, inviting the Japanese embassy in Vietnam, Ministry of Investment and Trading in Vietnam, Hai Duong People’s committee and more than 60 companies as the guests.

MES-UBI acknowledged the order of pressure vessels to be delivered to overseas in February 2015 and received the number of inquiries for domestic/ASEAN projects and request for factory survey from customers who has a keen interest in them. Some of them already visited to MES-UBI factory in Hai Duong, and they are deeply impressed on the latest facility and good location of factory.

UBI Tower has been manufacturing the wind tower for thermal plan and steel structure for bridge at their factory in Hai Duong province. To expand their business with using the facility, UBI Tower are seeking the possibility to set up the joint venture with the partner who has the world leading technology and acclimated know-how about the pressure vessels. MES also was trying to establish the company which enables us to manufacture the high quality and low price products in ASEAN. After series of discussion, MES and UBI Tower decided to set up the joint venture company with the strong confidence for our success.
