April 2, 2014

Maritime service provider Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) said it was honored to join The World, Residences at Sea, in Miramar, Florida on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the company’s seventh annual Celebration of Excellence awards dinner held to recognize its top port agents and travel partners from across the globe. From the home of President and CEO Tom McAlpin, honorees enjoyed a Caribbean-themed, family-style barbecue amid a gorgeous South Florida sunset, the perfect backdrop for the outdoor event.

Eric Gonzalez, ISS Operations Manager accepted The World’s Excellence in Service award on behalf of Inchcape Shipping Services, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The company was one of only 18 honored, from a field of 95, which met The World’s qualifications for receiving the award. Inchcape Shipping Services was chosen for delivering superior, five-star service – among several other criteria – to the world’s largest, private mega yacht and one-of-a-kind residential ship.

Eric was delighted to be presented with this award on behalf of his team, who strive to provide their best service at all times. He said, “Working with the crew of The World is a great pleasure which makes it easy to provide them with top notch service. The crew’s professionalism and congenial attitude towards anyone who works with them make this one of our favorite vessels, and we look forward to seeing them each year when she calls. They truly are a joy to work with."

“Tonight’s event is about thanking you, our valued partners, for all the support that you give us throughout the year and especially for the high quality service you provide,” said McAlpin as he addressed the honorees. “We appreciate the special attention that you give us and your positive attitude in helping us to deliver ‘the best of the best’ to our Residents and Guests.”
