Artemus Transportation Solutions, a company in the web-based trade compliance software industry, will hold its biannual Global Commerce- International Transportation & Trade Shipping 101 Course from June 23- June 27 at the New Jersey Marine Terminal Administration Building, located at 260 Kellogg St. Port Newark, N.J.
Focusing on the fundamentals of international trade and transportation, the intensive 4.5-day- course enhances knowledge and competitiveness in the global marketplace as a seller, buyer or service provider and also teaches critical work processes, compliance requirements and different modes of transportation. The interactive course will cover the entire ocean shipping and transportation process and includes a shipping excursion in a live environment with a terminal tour.
The course is hosted by The Maritime Association of Port New York and New Jersey, which has been a major sponsor of the program since 2007. The association has worked to serve the needs of the maritime community since 1873.
"Our goal was to ensure students to walk away feeling knowledgeable about the language of shipping and thoroughly prepared to bring a new skill set to their workplace when we began these courses in 2004," said Steve Pniewski, President and CEO of Artemus. "Our company and its predecessors enjoy nearly 40 years in the industry and we understand the value that proper training and education-whether the students are new to the industry or seasoned professionals who need some refresher courses."

For continuing education students, participants will be eligible to receive 3.2 CEU from Old Dominion University post completion of the program. The course also carries 20 CCS/CES Credits through the National Customs House Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association. Class size is limited to 25 students.
