GAC Appoints New Group VP for Asia Pacific

June 24, 2014

GAC has appointed Fredrik Nystrom as its new Group Vice President for the Asia Pacific region. He takes over from Dan Hjalmarsson, who has retired.

Nystrom has been GAC's Regional Business Controller based at the Regional Office in Singapore since 2007. He continues the work of his predecessor to guide the activities and expand the business of GAC companies throughout the region in line with the group’s ongoing growth strategy.

GAC Group President Bengt Ekstrand said, "In the 12 years since Fredrik joined us, he has served key roles in the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Asia Pacific. That has given him the solid knowledge and experience that will prove valuable in overseeing our continued development in one of the world’s most diverse regions."

Nystrom said, "We are already strong in Asia Pacific, but it is a large and highly competitive market. I shall draw on our considerable resources and stable infrastructure to strengthen our standing in the region."
