ALMACO Group Offshore Division Receives ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Certifications

ALMACO Group has received multi-site certifications for ISO 14001:2004, for implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and OHSAS 18001:2007, for developing Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management systems, in compliance with the international standards.

Mikael Liljeström, President of ALMACO Group’s Offshore Division, remarked, “These multi-site certifications cover Finland, Brazil and China and ensure an internationally recognized common management system that provides the same high level of occupational health and safety as well as environmental management to all our customers across our offices and construction sites.”

The certifications cover ALMACO’s products and services comprising engineering, procurement, construction, total project management, maintenance and on site installations for accommodation and food handling areas in living quarters, offshore installations and floating accommodation units.

“Earning these certifications confirms our commitment towards continuous improvement of sustainable policies and procedures, which is one of ALMACO’s core values,” said Janne Mörönen, ALMACO’S Offshore Division HSE and Quality Manager, “as well as towards adherence to the highest international standards of performance.”

Certification to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards required an accredited third party auditing organization, in this case DNV GL Business Assurance Finland Oy Ab, to systematically evaluate ALMACO Group’s internal quality management system processes and environmental management system, respectively, to certify that ALMACO is capable of constantly delivering a service that meets customers’ needs and expectations. The auditing process took place during 2014 in all three locations.

These new certifications complement ALMACO’s group-wide existing ISO 9001 registration for a true Integrated Management System. The three certifications prove ALMACO Group’s strict commitment to high performance and to consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations and industry specifications.
