Press release - Phil Whitehurst, CEO of Dorset marine electronics brand, Actisense, has been short-listed for the prestigious Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2015 sponsored by Nat West.

Actisense, are set to wave the Dorset flag on November 25, at The Ballroom Southbank, after being announced as finalists in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Out of hundreds of entrants, Phil Whitehurst and his Dorset-based brand, Actisense, have been shortlisted along with just 7 other businesses from across the UK in the Export/International Trade Entrepreneur of the Year category.

The International Trade Award recognizes leaders who have made a mark on the British export industry over the past year and have created an innovative and successful international trading model, with strong sales growth, the opening of new markets and examples of successfully promoting brand Britain. Marking a new era for entrepreneurship in the UK, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards are set to become the recognized standard of excellence among entrepreneurs.

Phil Whitehurst has said: “As a Dorset based business which started from very humble beginnings in my spare room over eighteen years ago, I am tremendously honored to be recognised in the inaugural Great British Entrepreneur Awards. I am very proud to be representing Dorset in the finals and would also like to thank my amazing team; without their support Actisense would not be the internationally successful company it is today.”

Simon Burton, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, has said: “The entries we have received for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards can only be described as awe inspiring. The quality has been outstanding. The judges have had the extremely difficult task of whittling the great and good of the entrepreneurial community down to the very best and we are delighted by the companies that have made the shortlist.

The Awards Ceremony itself in November will be a night to remember, with VIPs from the worlds of business and entrepreneurship gathering to celebrate entrepreneurial spirit in the UK.
