Osaka Gas wins Taiwan LNG terminal consulting work

Japanese city gas supplier Osaka Gas says its subsidiary has won consulting work for liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals planned by Taiwan's state-owned CPC Corp and Taiwan Power Co.The subsidiary, Osaka Gas Engineering, will handle basic design for all of the planned LNG terminals in Taiwan, Japan's second-biggest city gas supplier said in a statement.(Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori)

Gorgon LNG Faces Scrutiny on Delayed Carbon Capture Project

Freeport LNG Delays Start of Texas Export Terminal

MOL Orders LNG-Fueled Tugboat

Japanese shipping major Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has signed an agreement for the construction of an LNG-fueled tugboat with Kanagawa Dockyard. The construction is slated to start in February 2018 and complete in February 2019. Launching is scheduled for April of the same year. This deal marks MOL's first ownership of a tugboat powered by LNG-fuelled engines and it will be the first LNG-fuelled tugboat in Japan conforming to the IGF code. It is also Japan's first LNG-fuelled tugboat with the LNG fuel tank mounted on the exposed deck at the stern of the ship.

Maiden Gorgon LNG Cargo Heads to Japan

The first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Australian Chevron's monster $55 billion Gorgon Project has departed Barrow Island yesterday aboard the 2015-built LNG carrier Asia Excellence, US-based energy giant Chevron Corporation said. Chubu Electric Power, one of Chevron's foundation buyers for Gorgon LNG, will receive the cargo. Chevron Mulls LNG Supplies to China

Energy giant Chevron has signed a preliminary agreement with China's ENN LNG Trading company to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its $54 billion Gorgon LNG project in Western Australia. Chevron plans to supply a unit of ENN Energy Holdings Ltd. with as much as 500,000 metric tons of LNG a year from Australia's largest gas project, Gorgon. It follows Chevron’s initial agreement in late December to sell as much as 1 million tons of LNG a year to China Huadian Green Energy Co.

Chevron, SK LNG Trading Ink Deal for LNG Supply

Chevron Corporation today announced its Australian subsidiaries have signed a binding Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with SK LNG Trading Pte Ltd (SK). Osaka Gas Vessel Named "LNG Venus'

President: Koichi Muto) today announced the naming ceremony of 'LNG Venus', a newbuilding liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier held at the Nagasaki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI; President: Shunichi Miyanaga; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo). The vessel is under construction at MHI and will serve Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. As a large group of guests looked on, Osaka Gas President Ozaki named the vessel, and his wife cut the rope. The LNG Venus is co-owned by MOL and Osaka Gas’ wholly owned subsidiary, Osaka Gas International Transport Inc.

Construction Commences on Innovative LNG Carrier

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) recently commenced construction of the first ship in its “Sayaendo” Series, which it has developed as a new-generation liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, at the company’s Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works. The LNG carrier is one of two ships ordered jointly by Osaka Gas Co., Ltd., and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) in October 2011. The Sayaendo Series has a hull shape that evolved from LNG carriers with Moss-type* hemispherical tanks, and it is designed to offer improvements in fuel consumption and maintainability.

MHI Wins Order to Build LNG Tanker Pair

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), has agreed with Osaka Gas International Transport Inc. (OGIT), a group company of Osaka Gas Co., Ltd., and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd to build two new-generation liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. The event will represent the first construction of the "Sayaendo" Series, which significantly improves fuel consumption and maintainability through various features, including enhancement of ship structure efficiency. Two LNG carriers are slated for delivery in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Shell Floating LNG Technology, Greater Sunrise Project

Shell’s Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) technology has been selected as the Sunrise Joint Venture’s preferred option for developing the Greater Sunrise gas fields in the Timor Sea. Subject to final detailed agreements, government approvals and a final investment decision Shell will operate the FLNG facility and manage the design and build phases of the FLNG project for the Sunrise Joint Venture participants. The Sunrise project would be the second deployment of Shell’s proprietary FLNG design, following Shell’s Prelude FLNG development in the Browse basin, offshore Western Australia.
