Kotug Acquires Marsol

KOTUG International B.V. has completed the 100% acquisition of Marsol International Ltd., an offshore and marine terminal service center, specialized in offshore single point mooring (SPM) buoy terminals and its related infrastructure.The core business of Marsol is integrity management based commercial and technical marine service solutions for SPM and offshore terminals. Senior Appointments at First Marine Solutions

First MarineSolutions (FMS) said it has made two senior appointments to bolster its global growth plans. Dave McGinlay and Paul Crichton join the Aberdeen based mooring services provider as Business Development Director and Sales and Marketing Manager, respectively. McGinlay joins FMS having held key roles within the oil and gas sector for over ten years. Most recently, he was Business Development Manager at InterMoor (part of Acteon Group),identifying market opportunities and ensuring mooring equipment was utilized to meet the requirements of global rig companies and operators.

BMT Upgrades Critical Monitoring Systems for Termap

BMT has completed an upgrade of Single Point Mooring (SPM) Telemetry and Control Systems (SPM-TCS) for Terminales Marítimas Patagónicas S.A. (Termap). The systems play an integral role in providing real time operational and environmental data, as well as critical control functions required to manage the integrity of the CALM (Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring) Buoys that currently operate at Termap’s Caleta Córdova and Caleta Olivia terminals. The CALM Buoys are used to offload crude oil from deposits in the San Jorge basin.

DNV GL Bags Wintershall Noordzee's Verification Contract

DNV GL has been awarded a 5 year contract to provide in-service verification work for Wintershall Noordzee B.V.’s (‘WINZ) RAVN and A6-A platforms. The two platforms based in the North Sea are the unmanned RAVN in the Danish sector and manned A6-A in the German sector. RAVN is the first field in Denmark that Wintershall  Noordzee will transition to the production phase as operator. The A6-A platform is undergoing a major overhaul, with WINZ extending it to include an oil processing plant alongside the current gas condensate facilities.

Jee Evaluates Array Cable Risk in UK

Jee Ltd, a subsea cable specialist engineering company, has completed a project for a wind farm operator to assess the risks to the array cables within a UK offshore wind farm. With concerns about the integrity of cables on the wind farm, the operator awarded Jee a contract in March 2016 to compile a risk framework to be used as a basis for a risk based inspection (RBI) plan. As part of the study, Jee determined and ranked the risks to the array cables and provided guidance on the acceptability of each risk.

Standardization for Cost Effective Pipeline Innovation - DNV GL

Growing global energy demand and requirements for additional pipeline capacity are driving the pipeline segment. However, pipeline related innovation is prioritized by only 4% of senior oil & gas professionals, according to research by DNV GL, the technical advisor to the oil & gas industry. Further, the research shows that nearly one in five oil & gas companies (18%) do not have a strategy in place to maintain innovation. Six in ten (61%) respondents agree that operators will increasingly push to standardize their delivery globally, up from 55% in 2015 and 52% in 2014.

Three Specialists join Wood Group

Wood Group has appointed three senior engineering specialists who will lead a new team of up to 20 people in the UK to further build Wood Group’s capability in vibration, dynamics and noise. This follows the acquisition of BETA Machinery Analysis, a Calgary-based engineering consultancy specializing in advanced vibration analysis, and will include the opening of a Southampton office in January 2016. Proserv Apprentice Receives UK O&G Award

Proserv apprentice technician Marnie Toal was presented with the Apprentice of the Year Award last night, Thursday November 6, after being judged to have made a very significant impact on the oil and gas industry during her relatively short career. Toal’s colleague John Stoddard was also recognized for his achievements when he was named a finalist in the Graduate of the Year category. “It was a surprise to be nominated for an award just for doing my job,” Toal said. Proserv said Toal, 18, has made a huge impression since joining the company straight from school just over 12 months ago.

Intertek Invests in O&G Lab in Abu Dhabi

Intertek expanded its Exploration and Production services in the Middle East by investing in a new £1.4 million facility in Abu Dhabi. The laboratory will house cutting-edge equipment that will enable the organization to provide high-specification testing for oil and gas customers in the region. SCR Detailed Design Contract for 2H Offshore

2H Offshore Inc., an Acteon company, awarded a Steel Catenary Riser (SCR) detailed design project with LLOG Exploration Company. The scope of work includes the provision of detailed design of the production and export SCRs tied back to the Exmar OPTI-11000 semi-submersible for the Delta House field development. LLOG is currently developing the Marmalard and SOB2 fields in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico which will both be tied back to the Delta House Floating Production Facility located in MC Block 254 in approximately 4,500 feet of water.
