The HDC Hyundai Development Company of Korea has ordered a fleet of 28 Konecranes Noell Sprinter Carriers for Busan New Port 2-4 in Busan, Korea. Bahri Takes First of Four New Bulk Carriers

Saudi Arabian ship owner Bahri said it has taken delivery of the new Kamsarmax bulk carrier Sara, built by Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding (HVS), a subsidiary of Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd. (HMD).The 81,000 dwt vessel is the first in a series of four ordered by Bahri Dry Bulk from South Korea’s HMD in August 2017. The three remaining vessels are all scheduled to be delivered this year.The new ship will transport basic grains, such as wheat, barley, corn and other dry-bulk cargoes, for import into Saudi Arabia.The 229-meter newbuild increases the Bahri’s fleet of dry-bulk carriers to six ships.

Finnlines Orders MAN Propulsion Package for New RoRos

MAN Energy Solutions has won the order to supply six MAN B&W 9S50ME-C9.6 Tier II-compliant main engines for three 238-meter roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessels intended for operation in the Baltic Sea. The customer is Finnlines PLC., the Finnish shipping company and part of the Grimaldi Group. MAN Energy Solutions’ two-stroke licensee – Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. KSOE Wades into the Red

South Korean manufacturer of oil tankers, cargo and passenger vessels, and warships, Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) reported its fourth-quarter net loss of 26.2 billion won (US$ 22.2 million), remaining in the red compared with a year ago.The KSOE is an intermediate holding firm controlling Hyundai Heavy Industries and two other Hyundai Heavy Industries Group shipbuilders.According to a regulatory filing, operating profit for the October-December period last year was 169.9 billion, compared with a loss of 246.4 billion won a year ago.
