Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) has announced the appointment of John Sanford as Technical Sales Manager for Safety covering the Americas.


Andrew Sheriff, Business Director Safety said: “Getting the right people and competence in place is critical in the changing market place today. Adding John to our team is part of our plans to further develop our safety offering across the region.” “We have seen a significant increase in sales of the LRE (Liferaft Exchange) Programme across both North and South America in the last year. It is essential that we build on this success so we can continue to look at opportunities within a number of different segments, including cruise and offshore”.


Andy Millar, Sales Director, WSS Americas, added: “John will be key member of the regional sales team, driving sales of safety products, services and solutions throughout the Americas Region and we wish him every success in his new role”.


John has 27 years’ experience in the maritime services market, having recently worked for a Marine Safety service provider in the Americas and before that in Fleet Planning for Holland America Line and as a business development consultant for a number of marine service companies in the US government and private sector.
