United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has launched a North Europe - US East Coast (NEU1) service as well as an order of 3,500 reefer containers as part of its ongoing expansion phase.

The new NEU1 service has been added as part of UASC's strategic international network to provide customers with global transportation access and reach. It consists of a weekly sailing making five direct port calls in Northern Europe to the principle ports of Le Havre, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Southampton and Bremerhaven.
On the US East Coast, four further port calls will be made each week to the largest ports of New York, Norfolk, Charleston and Savannah.
Following the recent delivery of 2,000 new reefer units, UASC announced an additional order of 3,500 reefer containers with reefer technology provided by Daikin. The order marks the second expansion of UASC's reefer services.
In a statement, the carrier said that the order reiterates the company's ongoing investment in the most cutting-edge, energy-efficient solutions for the carriage of frozen and chilled cargoes.
"As an emerging global carrier that places customer service at the very heart of our operations, we are continuously exploring enhanced geographical reach and improved products, whilst always safeguarding reliability and service excellence,” said Jørn Hinge, President and CEO at UASC.
“The US East Coast markets provide a significant opportunity for UASC and its customers and these new service offerings mark an important step in UASC's evolution as well as giving a sense of our longer term aspirations," he added.
