LNG-Gorskaya Orders Russia's First LNG Bunker Vessels

Russian LNG-Gorskaya LLC has signed a contract with the shipbuilder United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) for the construction of Russia’s first three LNG bunkering tankers.
LNG-Gorskaya said in a statement that the vessels will be used for its LNG plant project at Gorskaya station near St. Petersburg that will have a production capacity of 1.12 mtpa of liquefied natural gas.
The order forms part of a plan to order up to 9 bunkering units intended for delivering fuel from an LNG plant being built at Gorskaya station near Saint-Petersburg. The plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 1.26 million tons of LNG.
Under the agreement, USC will build three 7,300 cbm LNG bunkering vessels with the construction expected to take 22 months, the company said. The agreement also includes an option for six additional vessels. All vessels will feature GTT’s LNG containment systems. The contract is valued at 5.67 billion rubles.
LNG-Gorskaya LLC plans to use its LNG bunkering fleet to deliver LNG to European consumers and to bunker vessels in the water area of the Gulf of Finland.
Earlier, BaltGazBunker LLC was going to implement the project on LNG production and bunkering at Gorskaya. Besides, Gazprom is set to build an LNG plant at Ust-Luga port.
