Filling a perceived gap in the global calendar of technical gatherings in the power transmission sector, the first Torsional Vibration Symposium will be held from May 21-23, 2014 in Salzburg, Austria.

The goal of the Symposium is to stage a unique event for experts involved with the subject matter from all over the world and from any affected branch of industry.

The event is organized by the newly formed Vibration Association located in Salzburg and an Advisory Board of international experts.

The proposed program includes sessions on torsional vibration aspects of combustion engines, powertrain components, applications and system behavior, fundamental engineering and torsional vibration calculation, torsional vibration measurement and rules and regulations.

The Advisory Board members are experts in the field of Torsional Vibration or are related to this sector: Robert Gläser, Wärtsilä Switzerland Ltd.; Torsten Philipp, Geislinger GmbH; Per Rønnedal, MAN Diesel & Turbo; Matthias Schuchardt, MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH; Prof. Christoph Spensberger, Dresden University of Applied Sciences; Jonathan Walker, MTZ Industrial and Prof. Andreas Wimmer, Technical University Graz.
