Cargo Ship Celtica Hav Diverted To Aberdeen after Fire

Fire erupted in cargo holds of general cargo vessel Celtica Hav on June 25 shortly after she left Aberdeen UK, bound for Hamburg.
Vessel, which was bound for Hamburg, Germany, turned back and sailed to Aberdeen, with firefighting teams already awaiting her in port.
The fire was under control, but vessel suffered some damages and will need of repair. The cargo in the burning hold was also seriously damages. Aberdeen lifeboat is currently escorting the vessel into port and say the situation is ‘currently stable’.
The ship was detained at Port of Aberdeen from local authorities for survey and inspection before released to resume the voyage.
No injuries to crew or damage to the vessel were sustained.
Celtica Hav has overall length of 82.00 m, moulded beam of 11.00 m and maximum draft of 3.50 m. The deadweight of the vessel is 1,720 DWT and the gross tonnage is 1,537 GRT.
The ship was built in 1984 by Peters Schiffswerft shipyard in Wewelsfleth, Germany. Celtica Hav is owned and operated by Norwegian company Hav Shipmanagement Norrus.
