USCG Foundation Honors Lockheed Martin

January 4, 2010

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education, welfare and morale of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced that it has recognized Lockheed Martin Corporation as its largest corporate donor.

Honored for lifetime gifts exceeding $2m, the Foundation presented the award to Fred P. Moosally, Coast Guard Foundation trustee and president of Lockheed Martin’s Maritime Systems and Sensors (MS2) business unit, at the company’s Washington, D.C. offices.

Lockheed Martin’s support is used by the Foundation to fund important projects and programs that seek to improve the lives and performance of Coast Guard members, their families and Coast Guard Academy cadets, including college scholarships for children, as well as grants for enlisted members.

“The Coast Guard Foundation is grateful to all of our donors ¬– corporate and individual, large and small – who contribute to the work we do,” said Anne Brengle, president of the Coast Guard Foundation. “Lockheed Martin’s corporate support and philanthropy are the cornerstones of the success the Coast Guard Foundation has achieved and have made many programs and projects for our maritime guardians and their families possible.”

In honor of the Coast Guard Foundation’s 40th anniversary, the organization recognized the contributions of its Directors and Trustees at its Annual Meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida in November 2009. The Foundation also thanked its top public corporations that have representatives on its board, and extended gratitude to individual directors and trustees who have made personal significant lifetime, cumulative gifts.
