ASNE Announces New ASNE Craft Expo in 2012

One of the country's top in-water boat demonstrations, Multi-Agency Craft Conference (MACC), has again been cancelled for 2012, as the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) and NSWCCD Combatant Craft Division (CCD) report that despite best efforts, the required approvals cannot be had in time to conduct MACC in 2012. The event was held in 2011, but was cancelled in 2010.
ASNE and CCD have started planning now for MACC 2012, but in the meantime ASNE is preparing to offer another event in 2012 aimed at the high-performance boat and craft community in the Tidewater, Virginia area.
MACC 2011 featured more than 170 exhibit booths, static displays, in-water demonstrations and amphibious vehicle demonstrations in addition to a top-notch technical program with keynote speakers, panels and technical presentations. The event, which featured exhibits in tents and an armada of patrol and military style craft for demonstration rides, was widely regarded for its hands-on nature and access to key decision makers. However,  due to FY2012 budget constraints, and insufficient time to comply with November 2011 SECNAV Washington DC Interim Conference Approval Guidance, the organizations were forced to postpone MACC 2012.

NEW: High-Performance Craft Expo 2012
In response to the high level of interest, ASNE is organizing a special event in 2012 that will focus on suppliers, operators, maintainers and equipment vendors in the high performance boat and craft community.
This new event, the High-Performance Craft Expo, will be held on the waterfront in Norfolk, Virginia, and it will feature exhibits, in-water displays, vendor presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities in addition to technical discussions and an opportunity for attendees to learn about and comment on plans for MACC 2013. Watch for further announcements about this event and for the latest information about all ASNE events and other activities at www.navalengineers.org.
