June 3, 2016

Disney Cruise Line has announced that new entertainment and experiences will be added to Disney Wonder this fall when the ship goes into dry dock.

Following the fall Eastbound Panama Canal cruise, the Disney Wonder will set a course for Cadiz, Spain to undergo an overdue re-imagination along the line’s of the Disney Magic dry dock in 2013.

Disney is promising some exciting new entertainment and experiences for Disney Wonder guests after her transformed this fall. Headlining the enhancements are imaginative spaces for children, a jazzy Princess and the Frog inspired restaurant Tiana’ Place and an English pub.

The Disney Parks Blog has reported that Parrot Cay will be changing to Tiana’s Place Restaurant, and it is going to be insanely awesome.

Tiana’s Place restaurant – inspired by Princess Tiana in “The Princess and the Frog” – will transport you to an era of southern charm, spirited jazz and street party celebrations. Here you’ll be treated to New Orleans dining and entertainment, with live music creating a French Quarter supper club atmosphere.

With the mentorship of some of Marvel’s greatest Super Heroes, young trainees will learn the value of teamwork, bravery and problem solving through hands-on play and programs.

Spider-Man will appear in person to help children hone their spider senses by perfecting their skills of reflex, speed and sharp minds. Other Marvel Super Heroes will interact with children via a large digital display. In one program, kids can control the movement of a character on screen to practice super skills like repulsor-blasting.

The ship will undergo its dry dock in Cadiz, Spain from Sept. 9-Oct. 23 after returning from its Alaska duties this summer. Wonder will then serve Galveston, Texas from November through January where it will sail to Puerto Rico and then reposition to Port Canaveral to begin service in late January.
