Due to supply problems in the U.S. trucking market dating back to mid-2017, carriers including Mediterranean Shipping Company MSC have been forced to reduce door delivery in some parts of the country.
MSC is continuing to conduct door deliveries for shippers in many regions, where market conditions allow this.
"In some congested areas we can only continue to provide these services in a timely way by modifying our tariffs or adding surcharges on certain bookings. We continue to offer full port-to-ramp services in the U.S.," said a statement from the company.
MSC is monitoring initiatives by major trucking companies to invest in their fleets and driver workforce and "we hope to see some stabilization in the market situation in the coming months," it said.
