Marine coatings manufacturer Pettit Marine Paint has added two new regional representatives: Mike Kent, new technical sales representative for the territory of Texas, Louisiana and the Caribbean Islands, and Travis Johnson, part-time representative of Pettit products in southwest Florida.
Kent, who joined the Pettit Team in January, 2016 as a Technical Sales Representative, has 28 years of experience in the marine coatings market. During his time in the marine industry, he has had the opportunity to work in different business facets ranging from boatyards and boat builders to charter companies throughout the southern U.S. and the Caribbean Islands.
Johnson brings nearly 40 years of industry sales and management experience to Pettit. Prior to briefly retiring in April 2015, Johnson spent 10 years with Interlux/Awlgrip, after 28 years with Interlux. Highlights of his career with Interlux/Awlgrip include Regional Manager for the Southeast United States and Caribbean for Interlux, and sales of both brands in the Gulf States, Midwest, and the Caribbean. He began his career as a purchasing manager for a Florida marine distributor. Although he has thoroughly enjoyed his retirement, he looks forward to the opportunity provided by Pettit to develop growth and market share with his previous customers on the West Coast of Florida.
