Intellian has appointed industry veteran Edward Joannides to take the helm of its Americas business unit as General Manager. Joannides’ experience in both the maritime and satellite communications industries spans over 25 years. This includes time at sea as a Chief Officer working for CMA CGM, and senior shore-based posts including Fleet Manager for Northern Navigation, Director of Strategy & Business Development at Inmarsat and most recently Program Manager for SATCOM Services at Northrup Grumman.

Joannides has had a longstanding relationship with Intellian and has worked with the company in recent years on various projects, giving him an excellent understanding of the Intellian ethos.

“We are delighted to welcome Edward to the Intellian family,” said Eric Sung, CEO and President of Intellian. “As we grow and develop the business and enter new market sectors, the Americas will be key to our success. With his vast experience and industry knowledge, and having worked with him previously, we know that Edward is the perfect person to drive our business in this crucial region.”

“The relationships and collaboration I’ve had with the Intellian team over the years have always been extremely positive,” said Joannides. “It’s a dynamic, fast-paced environment where the commitment and performance of every player on the team really counts. What Intellian has achieved so far is nothing short of incredible. I’m very happy to be involved for the long haul and am honored to assume this leadership role just as we are set to begin the next phase of growth.”
