Transportation Club of Tacoma's Person of the Year 2013 – Terry Thomas

The Transportation Club of Tacoma (TCT), the largest Transportation Club Chapter in North America, has chosen Terry Thomas, president and one of the founders of his company PNW Equipment Inc., as their 'Person of the Year 2013'.

TCT explain in a brief biography that Terry Thomas, founded his company, PNW Equipment Inc. in 1980, and it has since then become a recognized leader in the design, manufacture, sales and leasing of maritime and intermodal equipment throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Pacific Maritime region which includes Western Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii.

After earning his BA in Business Administration from Seattle University where he was a member of the Seattle University Golf Team, and following both active and reserve service in the United States Coast Guard, Terry embarked upon a life-long career in the transportation industry.

Since 1968 his career journey has literally covered the entire transportation spectrum having, at one time or another worked for and/or owned companies in the steamship, commercial trucking, container depot, commercial fishing, warehousing, storage, wholesale distribution, design, manufacturing, sales and leasing aspects of the industry.

Today, Terry’s business focus continues to support the growth and development of the intermodal equipment needs for hundreds of Pacific Northwest companies. His company, PNW Equipment provides a range of intermodal equipment design, manufacturing, sales and leasing solutions for customers large and small.

Transportation Club of Tacoma say they salute Terry Thomas for a lifetime of accomplishments, and are honored to present him as the Club’s '2013 Person of the Year', adding that they wish him a long and productive retirement.
