BAE Systems Awarded Significant US Navy Contract

BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair contracted for 'USS Porter' (DDG 78) extended dry-docking work by the Department of Defense.

The value of the firm-fixed-price contract for fiscal 2013 US $49,435,634.

The contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $61,289,100.  All work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by April 2014.

The Department of Defense adds that this contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with two proposals received.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity
