The SENER engineering and technology group will take part in the 6th NAVALIA International Shipbuilding Exhibition on May 24-26 in Vigo. Each year this event attracts more than 20,000 professional visitors, mostly from the European Union, and this year it will have 750 exhibitors, including SENER.

In this year’s fair, SENER will once again be placing a focus on virtual reality technology by sharing a stand with the ESI GROUP, its partner in this field. The stand will feature a Virtual Reality System so all the visitors who come to take a look will be able to experience real, collaborative immersion in 3D models with FORAN-IC.IDO, which combines SENER’s 3D ship models with the virtual reality solutions of the ESI GROUP. Furthermore, SENER will be presenting the different services it offers to shipyards, ship owners, and technical offices, such as ship design, engineering, and marine consultancy.
SENER will showcase the new features of the FORAN CAD/CAM marine system, the most recent V80 version of which includes new developments in the different subsystems (Forms and Marine Architecture, Structure, Machinery, Electricity, Graphics, Construction Strategy, etc.). Another important new feature of this version of the software is the change to the FPLM solution, which makes it possible to connect the FORAN System with the main Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLMs) available on the market.
SENER will also be presenting innovations within the area of marine engineering and ship design, where it is characterized by its capacity to undertake integral projects that include everything from Conceptual Design, Basic and Classification Engineering, to Detailed Engineering for ships and offshore platforms. It is known for its experience in the design of tugboats, ferries, offshore support vessels, fishing vessels and LNG (liquefied natural gas) carriers, also known as bunkering vessels. Within this last group, SENER has created a new design to meet the demand for LNG and to comply with the new emission standards (IMO Tier III, ECA zones, etc.).

For its part, SENER’s FORAN System, a CAD/CAM/CAE software program for the design and production of all kinds of ships and vessels, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015.
