Seaspan Shipyards Welcomes MacLeod as VP

Seaspan Shipyards has announced the appointment of Amy MacLeod as the organization’s new Vice President, Corporate Affairs & External Communications. 

Based in Ottawa, MacLeod will be responsible for developing, managing and maintaining strategic public relations and external communications plans and tactics to support Seaspan Shipyards’ business and marketing objectives.

Amy MacLeod a well-known executive and community leader in the Ottawa area, MacLeod joins Seaspan with over 25 years of communications experience in the technology and defense sectors as well as with political organizations. Most recently MacLeod was Vice President Strategic Communications and Corporate Diversity Officer at Mitel, where she held responsibility for global external and internal communications and provided communications counsel to executive leadership.

Prior to Mitel, MacLeod held senior leadership roles at General Dynamics, Alcatel-Lucent and Newbridge Networks. As a senior communications strategist and corporate spokesperson, she has shared her expertise at many public speaking engagements and conferences including TEDx Kanata. In 2019 Ms. MacLeod was a finalist for Ottawa’s Businesswoman of the Year.

MacLeod holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Waterloo along with post-graduate studies in marketing and diversity and inclusion.
