Marine coatings manufacturer Pettit Marine Paint announced the addition of George Dunigan to its technical sales team. As part of his role, Dunigan will be responsible for bolstering customer retention efforts and developing new relationships in the Maryland market.

“George has been in the marine coatings business for the past 17 years,” said Don Zabransky, vice president sales & marketing, Pettit Marine Paint. “His thorough knowledge of application techniques, special coatings and his ability to address customers’ concerns and solve problems makes him a great addition to the Pettit family.”
A NACE International Institute-certified coatings engineer, Dunigan has received comprehensive training and has demonstrated significant experience in topside paints and antifouling coatings.
Born and raised in Maryland, Dunigan resides in Annapolis. As a lifetime resident, he has been deeply involved in the maritime industry at all levels and is intimately aware of the needs of boaters and marinas in the region. As president of the Marine Trades Association of Maryland, Dunigan was instrumental in representing the needs and timelines of marinas and boatyards while crafting the State’s General Permit for Discharges of Stormwater Associated with Industrial Activity. He also worked on the State’s proposal for Volatile Organic Compound regulations as a liaison between the boatyards and the Department of the Environment. Dunigan also worked with the Director of the Department to institute a cap on the State’s boat excise tax – a bill that has had a significant impact on the boating industry in Maryland.
