Orion Leader Rescues Sailor

Orion Leader, a car carrier operated by NYK, rescued a sailor from a sailing yacht in distress on July 3 off the coast of Mexico.

Orion Leader was sailing from Honolulu, Hawaii, to Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico, on July 3, when the ship received a distress call from the U.S. Coast Guard indicating that a nearby yacht was in distress approximately 970 nautical miles in the Pacific Ocean from the west coast of Mexico. The ship found the yacht, rescued the sailor, and then reported to the to the Coast Guard.
