Seize the opportunity and visit the Danish Maritime Authority’s vessel Poul Løwenørn on Culture Night. The inspection vessel Poul Løwenørn keeps open house on 10 October during Danish Maritime Days.

What happens when the waters are being buoyed? How does a ship’s radar function and which safety precautions should be taken when working on board a ship? You can get the answers to all these questions when the Danish Maritime Authority invites you on board the inspection vessel Poul Løwenørn on Friday, 10 October on Culture Night.

Get really close
The 48-metre long vessel from 2001 will moor alongside the quay at the Amaliehaven and everyone interested is welcome aboard. Here, the eight crewmembers will tell anecdotes from their daily work on board the vessel when they go to sea in wind and weather to mark the waters with buoys. On board the ship, you can also see the buoys of which only the top is normally visible above the surface of the water. It will also be possible to visit the navigation bridge to see how the ship’s radar functions or to have a talk with the chief officer. Finally, you can meet the Danish Pleasure Craft Safety Board which will be on board Poul Løwenørn to give good advice about safety at sea.

The event is free of charge – and you can visit Poul Løwenørn at the Amaliekajen on 10 October from 2 pm to 11 pm.
