Khorramshahr Port Throughput Rises

Iran's Khorramshahr Port registered a growth of 59% in general cargo loading operation during the last four months.

"More than 738,483 tons of non-oil goods were loaded in the port of Khorramshahr, which shows an increase of 59% compared to the same period last year," said Nourollah Asadi, Managing Director of Khorramshahr Port and Maritime.

Referring to the major export commodities from Khorramshahr Port, he said that Metals, Building Materials, Minerals, Animal Products, Household Appliances, Fertilizers and Chemical Pesticides are major commodities being exported from Khorramshahr Port to Persian Gulf Countries.

Asadi pointed out that more than 4,000 non-containerized vessels have been loaded and unloaded in Khorramshahr port over the course of the four months. Compared to the same period last year, the port of Khorramshahr experienced a 42% growth in this regard.

Regarding the Increase in number of transit of  International passengers from Khorramshahr Port to Kuwait,  Managing Director of Khorramshahr Port and maritime expressed that during the first four months of this year, more than 7863 passengers were registered on the sea route of Khoramshahr Port to Kuwait.

Compared to the same period last year, it shows a growth of 35%, he added.
