iContainers to Represent Spain at 4YFN

Press Release
Tuesday, February 20, 2018
iContainers, a 100% online freight forwarder, has been chosen as one of the 32 most innovative and disruptive companies to represent Spain at the Spanish pavilion at this year’s 4YFN (4 Years From Now), a business platform for startups that’s being held in conjunction with the Mobile World Capital in Barcelona from February 26 to 28 this year.
The Spanish pavilion is organized by Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism’s Red.es entity and ICEX Spain Trade and Investment. It brings together a selected group of Spanish companies deemed to have distinguished themselves by developing disruptive business projects based on the use of new technologies in diverse fields.
As a participant in the pavilion, iContainers’ innovative capabilities have been recognized. The Spanish company offers a market value proposition that incorporates technology into ocean freight, allowing for a more efficient shipping experience. iContainers’ platform simplifies the process of comparing and searching for rates, booking of services, management of documents, and cargo tracking from start to end.
Thanks to having automated large parts of the logistical operations, the platform is positively influencing the transformation of a massive and complex sector that still very much uses outdated business practices and processes.
Ocean freight moves around 90% of world trade, meaning that most of the products we see around us were transported by sea. But despite being an industry responsible for $300 billion worth of commercial trade, the adoption of technology has been considerably slower than other industries such as banking and tourism.
4YFN is an international meeting point that connects startups with potential investors. As a business platform, it facilitates the construction of ideas and networking between professionals and participating companies in the mobile industry.
