Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. last weekend announced having held a charity event in the company's Head Office cafeteria to help the World Food Programme (WFP)'s school feeding programme.

The WFP, which is part of the United Nations system and the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, implements school feeding programme, to ensure every child has access to education, health and nutrition. The event in MOL's cafeteria gave its executives and employees a chance to taste the same kind of meals provided through the aid program, purchase WFP charity merchandise, and make contributions at a fundraising desk, with all the proceeds going to the WFP. More than 300 MOL executives and employees took part in the event. Their contributions through the event will help providing about 4,000 children with nutritious meals.
"I was happy to take part in this kind of social contribution activity," said one MOL employee who volunteered to help with the charity event. "It was really easy to take part in this event," said another, "because it was right here in our own cafeteria."
MOL is committed to ongoing, proactive support of social contribution activities as a good corporate citizen.
