The Gazprom Specialized Department was opened today in St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Russia's top-rated higher education institution of economics. Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Chairman and Igor Maximtsev, Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Economics took part in the event.

“As early as this academic year the new department will supervise all the postgraduates whose papers would be considered useful for the Company's business. From September 1 next year, the new department will offer master's degree courses available to Gazprom's employees and the brightest bachelor graduates of the University.

Master's student will do their internship in Gazprom's subsidiaries, and those who are capable to demonstrate the outstanding achievements will be invited to participate in a job contest. This is the most effective way of cooperation between the Company and the University – the employers can identify the most promising talents and the University will seek to train young economists to work in the energy business,” said Alexey Miller.
