In honor of the new school year, Washington State Ferries announced its first-ever drawing contest.

WSF prints 400,000 winter ferry schedules every year and distributes them in ferry-served communities and in its 10 ferry terminals and 22 vessels. This year, WSF would like young student artists to illustrate what “winter on the water” means to them. The winning drawing will be featured on the cover of the winter 2017 sailing schedule.
“Our ferry system is an iconic part of our state, and carries thousands of students to and from school each day and on various school trips,” said Ferries Assistant Secretary Lynne Griffith. “We love being the state’s only green and white school bus, and want to ask young Washingtonians to submit drawings celebrating their ferry system.”
In addition to the winner, five finalists will be selected and featured on the WSF website, on Twitter and in the WSF Weekly Update newsletter.
The competition is open to K-5 students. Drawings will be accepted via email or regular mail through Oct. 14.
