MTS Executive Director Steps Down

Richard Lawson, Executive Director of the Marine Technology Society (MTS), has stepped down to pursue other professional opportunities, MTS’ Board of Directors announced today.
Lawson has served as MTS Executive Director since December of 2007. He steps down effective today.
In the coming weeks, the MTS Board of Directors will develop a formal search process for a new executive director, as well as a restructuring of job responsibilities to better utilize the talents of the remainder of the MTS staff.
Chris Barrett, currently the Director of Meetings and Professional Development, has been named Interim Executive Director and will assume day-to-day management of the Society’s headquarters office.
