Crowley Maritime Extra Sailing to Meet US/Caribbean Demand

Press Release
Tuesday, March 19, 2013

The liner services group will offer ocean-freight customers a second weekly southbound sailing from Port Everglades, Fla., to Nassau, Bahamas.

The new Saturday sailing day, starting Saturday, March 23, 2013, will give customers an additional option for the transport of their goods, including groceries, retail merchandise, building materials, refrigerated (reefer) products, and vehicles from Port Everglades to Nassau each week. The Monday vessel arrival in Nassau also aligns well with the logistical needs of the local market.

“It’s important for us to listen and be responsive to our customers,” said Tony Otero, vice president, Caribbean Services. “Based on their input, we adjusted our Bahamas service schedule to offer them more flexibility to get their products and other cargo to market.”

To Nassau, Crowley offers full-containerload (FCL) service as well as less-than-containerload (LCL) service. For customers shipping to the United States from Nassau, Crowley offers a northbound service to Jacksonville and Port Everglades weekly, departing on Mondays and Wednesdays. Customers who wish to learn more or who have inquiries about this new sailing should call 1-800-276-9539.

Jacksonville-based Crowley Holdings Inc., is a holding company of the 121-year-old Crowley Maritime Corporation, a privately held family and employee-owned company.
