Consilium opens an office in Stavanger to push its fire alarms for the offshore industry.

Thought the Norwegian offshore industry is down, premised on the continued low pricing for oil globally, it certainly is not out, and inevitably it will come back. As such, Consilium has chosen Stavanger for its new Norwegian office, as Stavanger is a base for the Norwegian oil industry and close proximity to customers. The office will initially be supported by Consilium's offices in Oslo and Gothenburg. As operations in Stavanger develop, the idea is that it will include sales as well as project management, service and support.

Consilium is a suppliers of fire alarm systems for marine environments. The company has spent several years developing a new fire alarm, CFD 5000, designed specifically for offshore applications, such as oil platforms, refineries and floating support units. The fire alarm is designed to meet high demands for reliability and quality. It is in the final phase of its SIL2 certification and hardware as well as software is developed in close cooperation with the certification body TÜV NORD.
