CLIMAX Names Kunkler VP

CLIMAX Portable Machining & Welding Systems, industry pioneer in the design and manufacture of portable on-site machining and welding tools, announced today it has hired Scott Kunkler as Vice President of Global Quality and Engineering. Kunkler joined the CLIMAX World Headquarters in Newberg, Ore., on March 31.

The CLIMAX quality and engineering team works to improve quality and engineering efficiencies by seeking innovative repair and maintenance solutions to drive growth and profitability. Kunkler is responsible for analyzing and developing improvements to CLIMAX’s quality system and design processes as well as manufacturing and application engineering processes.

Kunkler brings 29 years of professional engineering experience in leading international quality and engineering teams, and in assisting companies with the technical evaluation of their acquisitions across the globe. Prior to joining the CLIMAX team, Kunkler was the vice president of engineering at CIRCOR Aerospace &Defense, a global provider of highly engineered technology, service and system solutions for critical aerospace and defense applications. While at CIRCOR, he directed engineering activities across six global sites located in Europe, India and North America. Additionally, he managed development of components and subcontracted systems for major aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.
