Allender Elected New Canaveral Commission Chair

During the first meeting of 2015, Port Canaveral Commissioners voted unanimously for attorney Jerry Allender to serve as the new Chairman of the five-member elected Board.
Allender previously served two second terms as Vice Chairman. The Titusville resident was elected to the Port Authority in August 2010 to represent District 1 and begin his term in January 2011.
John H. Evans will serve as Vice Chairman. He was elected from District 2 in November 2012 and began his term in January 2013. The Titusville resident has been practicing law since 1973.
Thomas “Tom” Weinberg, the immediate past Chairman who served two consecutive terms, accepted the role of Secretary/Treasurer. The licensed realtor and former government administrator is a fourth-generation Floridian elected from District 5. He began his Commission tenure in January 2011
New to the Board is Wayne Justice, who was elected to the Commission in November 2014 from District 3 for a term beginning January 2015.  He served 37 years in the Coast Guard and retired as a two-star admiral. 
Robert 'Bruce' Deardoff continues his service to the Board. Elected in November 2010 from District 4 for a term that began in January 2011, the Merritt Island, Florida resident owns several auto dealerships.
