Global energy recruiter Worldwide Recruitment Solutions (WRS) has launched its Asia hub Singapore office. Based on the 36th floor of the UOB building in the heart of the central business district, the new office is slated to open its doors in May.
Following the 2014 launch of its Kurdistan office, the new Singapore office is part of a strategic move by the business to service clients’ needs within the APAC region after successful development of the business operations over the past three years, WRS explained.
Mark Brown, Managing Director of WRS, said, “We’re absolutely delighted to have opened up in Singapore… it’s so exciting to be a part of the business during this period of rapid change and growth and we welcome the next stage of the company’s development. Our Singapore operation has already opened doors for us in the APAC region and we believe our presence there will improve the quality of service we can give to new and existing clients operating in Asia.”
WRS has appointed Regional Director Philip Shepherd, who will spearhead the launch and development of the Asia Pacific expansion. Philip has many years’ experience working in the Asia Pacific region, with a background within recruitment and business operations management in oil and gas. Supporting Philip will be Business Development Manager Zue Ling, who has APAC recruitment experience having previously worked with two Asian consultancies. Zue will be responsible for driving market penetration and strategy whilst further building on WRS’ client base.
Philip Shepherd, Regional Director for APAC, stated, “It’s a pleasure joining WRS at what is a very exciting stage within the company’s expansion. As an award winning business in the U.K. with an excellent reputation within the global market place I am of course looking forward to further building on this reputation and success in the Asia Pacific region. We will be making a number of key hires in the coming months to support us as we grow WRS’ presence in Singapore and wider Asia market. Singapore is seen as the gateway to Asia it and a perfect place for WRS’ first Asia operation due to its global business and shipping centre, Oil Refineries and proximity to our clients.”
