Windward is publishing intelligence reports on the crisis in the Gulf as the situation develops.
From today’s brief:
Iran named the Hormuz subsea cables as targets this week, with an IRGC spokesman warning that new targets and new weapons would be unveiled.
The attack campaign widened on two fronts. A Suezmax tanker was likely struck by a rocket propelled grenade fired from a small boat in the central Gulf on October 16th, and a Netherlands-flagged tug was struck northeast of Khor Fakkan, the 27th attack this month.
EO imagery on October 19 shows a VLCC-size tanker actively leaking oil off Umm Al Quwain, with Windward’s drift model putting the slick on the Umm Al Quwain shoreline from October 22 and within three kilometers of two Sharjah desalination plants by October 24.
