Walk-through Lockages at Iroquois Lock - Montreal / Lake Ontario

by Joseph R. Fonseca

Mariners are reminded that during a walk-through lockage at Iroquois Lock:

• The vessel must maintain contact with the lock on marine VHF channel 17 during the entire lockage. The vessel may leave channel 17 only after having left the lock.
• The vessel must have personnel ready at the fairleads with mooring lines ready for deployment in the event they are required.

Vessels found not to have sufficient crew members on deck or mooring lines ready for deployment may be disqualified from participating in “walkthrough” lockages at Iroquois Lock.
