The Lince Class service from Transinsular, a GRUPO ETE company, will start to call Total Terminal International Algeciras (TTI) from August 23, 2018, opening a direct link from the Spanish mainland to Cape Verde (Praia and Mindelo), that will also serve as a cargo transshipment hub for the Mediterranean, namely other ports in Spain, as well as Italy, Greece and Turkey.
The strengthening of the Lince Class with a new call in the European continent (it already links Leixões and Lisbon to Cape Verde), will bring the Iberian Peninsula and the Mediterranean closer to the African markets of Cape Verde (Praia and Mindelo) and Guinea-Bissau.
This international line is unique in the market in guaranteeing fixed dates every two weeks, has a monthly transport capacity of 1500 TEUs and the best transit times in the market. The new Algeciras call will give the Spanish customers a transit time of just 3 days to Praia, 5 days to Mindelo and 10 days to Bissau. The Lince Class currently provides a 5-day transit time from Lisbon to Praia, 7 days to Mindelo and 12 days to Bissau.
Lince Class discharges in Praia the import cargoes destined for Cape Verde and the African markets of proximity, receiving in Mindelo the export cargoes destined for Leixões and Lisbon and directed to Europe, Mediterranean and rest of the world.
