Tradepoint Atlantic: Logistics for Offshore Wind Projects

Tradepoint Atlantic, a 3,100-acre multimodal global logistics center in Baltimore that features a combination of access to deepwater berths, railroads, highways and storage space, has issued a statement in connection with the Maryland PSC’s decision to award offshore wind renewable energy credits (ORECs) to U.S. Wind and Skipjack:
"We are extremely pleased with the decision announced today by the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) to award offshore wind renewable energy credits (ORECs) to two developers, U.S. Wind and Skipjack Offshore Energy. We believe this represents a significant step forward in fulfilling the opportunity brought by offshore wind as a means of delivering new and sustainable industry to Maryland, while supporting meaningful manufacturing and logistics jobs.
"Additionally, we applaud the PSC’s recognition of the need for investments in port upgrades at Tradepoint Atlantic with an eye toward unlocking the full potential of the site for offshore wind operations in coming years. We look forward to closely collaborating with each of the developers, the business network for offshore wind and offshore industry partners as Sparrows Point is poised to become the manufacturing and logistics hub for offshore wind operations that we know it can be."
