tigerlab Launches Brokerage Management Platform for Marine Cargo

Monday, November 2, 2026

Insurance technology company tigerlab has launched tigerlab Brokerage, a broker management platform developed with a global insurance brokerage to handle the complex operational requirements of marine cargo insurance.

While general-purpose broker management systems typically center on policy administration, tigerlab Brokerage takes a different approach, placing high-volume shipment declarations and their associated financial transactions at the heart of the platform's design. The platform is already processing live business as the brokerage standardizes operations across a network of more than 30 countries, with five countries currently live.

A single marine cargo open cover can involve thousands of shipments annually, generating shipment declarations, premium transactions, and insurer reporting requirements. For international brokers, multiple currencies, insurance taxes, and local regulatory requirements add further complexity.

"Managing the policy is only part of the job. The real administrative burden comes from processing high volumes of shipment declarations and associated transactions, as well as the reporting behind them," said Holm Schimanski, partner and chief AI officer at tigerlab. "When those activities rely on emails, spreadsheets, and separate systems, brokers spend too much time moving information between them. We've built tigerlab Brokerage to bring that work into one process."

tigerlab Brokerage brings shipment declarations, invoicing, and insurer reporting into one workflow, removing the need to enter the same information more than once. It also posts transactions across four connected accounting ledgers, covering client premiums, insurer payables, broker commissions, and insurance taxes. This helps keep financial records aligned as business is processed, reducing manual reconciliation.

Sanctions screening and customer due diligence are built into the binding process, with required checks completed before cover can be bound.

The platform also allows separately regulated offices in different countries to operate within one system, providing a consolidated view of clients, cover, and financial transactions.

Designed for marine cargo, transport, and logistics brokers, and managing general agents (MGAs), tigerlab Brokerage can also be combined with tigerlab's tigersuite platform to support delegated underwriting, including shipment portals, referral rules, vessel tracking, and screening.
