Thrustmaster of Texas, a designer and manufacturer of marine thruster systems, has appointed Bart Vonk as Sales Manager of Thrustmaster Middle East FZE, based out of Dubai.
Vonk's background is in technical solution sales, having worked as a sales engineer, sales manager and area manager for Wartsila, Bosch Rexroth and Voith Middle East.
Vonk graduated as an engineer in product development in 2008. He started as a sales engineer at Wartsila supporting the front office as marine propulsion sales engineer. He later saw opportunity at Bosch Rexroth to represent large mechatronic actuators where he worked his way to Sales Manager for North America, achieving a degree in B2B Strategic marketing along the way.
Voith then brought Vonk to Dubai where he would allocate over $160 million business potential for the maritime industry. Vonk later took on the oil and gas portfolio, selling hydrodynamic mechanic variable speed technology to NOCs, handling an $11 million portfolio including his highest single project value of over $6.5 million.
Starting September 2015, Vonk returns to the maritime industry, joining Thrustmaster Middle East’s team working under current General Manager Derek Kirkup.
