APM Terminals Organizes CSR Initiatives Under ‘I - Care’

APM Terminals Inland Services, South Asia continues to rollout its “I- Care” CSR master plan to help local communities in India improve their quality of life. Eye and Vision Care camps were established to help improve the lives of people located next to APM Terminals Inland Services facilities– these included contract workers, truck drivers, custom house agents, customers, local communities and other stakeholders. The camps performed check-ups, prescribed lenses, made referrals for further diagnosis and distributed glasses free of cost.

This initiative impacted over 1000 lives with nearly 450 new prescriptions and free eyeglasses, and a number of cataracts diagnosed. “This initiative was particularly beneficial to the truck drivers from a safety point of view - one of the core CSR causes of APM Terminals Inland Services, commented R K Sreedhar, MD and CFO, APM Terminals India Pvt. Ltd.

APM Terminals Inland Services, South Asia partnered with several social organizations including NGOs and other local hospitals and institutes to make the camp a success. Health check-up camps including screening for Diabetes, Anemia and Urea. Blood Donation drives were also held. Equally important, water purification and water coolers were donated to to primary schools in Kunde and Navghar village near our APM Terminals Inland facilities for school children and to help with a tree planting initiative.
