SUNY Maritime Spring Commencement: May 9

The State University of New York Maritime College will hold its May Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11 a.m., in the St. Mary’s Pentagon, Fort Schuyler, on the SUNY Maritime campus.

Dr. Michael A. Cappeto, Interim President of the Maritime College, will preside over the Commencement. Approximately 220 students are expected to receive degrees during the ceremonies.

John J. Ferriola, Chairman, CEO, and President of NUCOR Corporation, will receive an honorary doctorate degree and will deliver the remarks to graduates. NUCOR Corporation, a Fortune 500 company with nearly 200 operating facilities and 90 companies, is the largest producer of steel in the United States.

Degrees will be conferred for Master of Science in International Transportation Management; Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture; for Bachelor of Science in General Engineering, General Marine Business and Commerce with Humanities Study Area Concentration, International Transportation and Trade, Marine Environmental Science, Marine Operations, Maritime Studies, Marine Transportation; and for Associate of Applied Science in Marine Technology Small Vessel Operations.
