AMSEC LLC, a subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), has promoted Cathy Cope to director of contracts, pricing, procurement and material management.
In her new role, Cope is responsible for the management of AMSEC's contracts and procurement across all business areas. As such, she is responsible for contracts, pricing and estimating, purchasing, subcontracts administration, material management, and small business management/reporting.
Cope assumed her new role, which was previously held by Karen Lisota, on Monday, reporting directly to Harris Leonard, vice president of HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division and president of AMSEC operations.
"Karen began her career in 1986 as contracts manager, and her dedicated service, experience and commitment to the company will be missed," Leonard said. "Naming Cathy as the director of contracts, procurement and material management recognizes her achievements, expertise and strong leadership that will serve AMSEC well into the future."
Cope earned a bachelor's degree in education from Frostburg State University and a master's degree in business administration and management from the College of William and Mary. She has been with AMSEC for 26 years and most recently served as acting director of contracts, pricing, procurement and material management.
