Stena Weco Opens Office in Dubai

Stena Bulk, via Stena Weco and Golden Stena Weco, has opened a new office in Dubai and will move in this month. The official inauguration will take place in January next year. The company already has a presence in the market in the region but said it wants to get closer to its customers to continue to develop the transportation of chemicals and petroleum products.

For Stena Bulk and Stena Weco, which, with its IMOIIMAX fleet, is focusing increasingly on trade with chemicals, Dubai is a strategic hub. Here, the oil industry is also building additional refineries closer to the oil fields in the region.

There will be room for up to 15 persons in the new office located in Almas Tower, JLT. The office is being started up by three personnel. Aayush Giri with long experience from several Stena companies, most recently Stena International in Gothenburg will be the General Manager.

Stena Weco is jointly owned (50-50) by Swedish Stena Bulk and Danish Weco Shipping. Golden Stena Weco is a joint venture between Stena Weco and Golden Agri-Resources. With the addition of the office in Dubai, Stena Bulk now conducts business in six countries. In addition to Dubai, it has offices in Houston, Copenhagen, Singapore and Shanghai. Its head office is in Gothenburg.
