TRIYARDS Holdings Limited announced today that its Vietnam facility, Saigon Offshore Fabrication and Engineering Ltd (SOFEL) has been granted the API-2C Monogram Certificate, becoming first such facility in Vietnam to receive the API-2C Monogram Certificate.

SOFEL was established in 2009 as TRIYARDS’ vessel construction arm. The 134,0002m facility in Vung Tau, Vietnam currently extends over a 347m-long water frontage, an undercover workshop and an industrial activities yard.
API grants the API-2C Monogram Certificate to crane manufacturers that meet a set of specified production criteria. With the API-2C Monogram Certificate, SOFEL is given the authority to apply the certification mark to equipment that meets API’s product specification requirements. The use of the API-2C Monogram on its products constitutes a representation and warranty by SOFEL that, on the date of manufacture, the product conforms to all applicable, current editions of specifications, standards and requirements of API.
At the ceremony held in Singapore, where API presented TRIYARDS with the API-2C Monogram Certificate, TRIYARDS Chief Executive Officer, Chan Eng Yew, said, “We are honored to have been recognized by the American Petroleum Institute. Earlier this year, our team in Saigon volunteered to undergo an audit to earn the API-2C Monogram Certificate. We are pleased that our efforts have paid off. The API-2C Monogram Certificate is a strong testament to our commitment to production quality and consistency, and a strong demonstration of our team’s commitment to excellence.”
Chan added, “This achievement is also a reflection of the group’s wider engineering capabilities. Our Engineering Office in Houston, Texas continues to spearhead the Group’s product development initiatives to address our customers’ evolving needs in lifting appliances and products.”
The API Monogram Program is a voluntary licensing program designed to facilitate the consistent manufacturing of product that conforms to API standards. The program requires that manufacturers maintain the capabilities, including the resources, processes and technology, to manufacture products that fall within the scope of licensing. The program gives licensed manufacturers an opportunity to mark conforming product so that it is easily recognizable and identifiable in the field.
API licenses crane manufacturers through the API Monogram Program to apply the API Monogram to offshore pedestal mounted cranes that comply with API-2C specification and have been manufactured under a quality system that meets the requirements of API Q1.
